What Is Residential Rehab—and Is It Right for You?
Residential alcohol and drug rehab, also called inpatient treatment, is a comprehensive program where a person stays at the facility for a period of time and fully participates with the professional staff and other attending individuals desiring to obtain and sober a healthy life.
At Virtue Recovery’s alcohol and drug residential rehab in Oregon, each person participates in therapies and educational groups, and individual sessions. Being at an inpatient facility, a person will have to take off time from work or school, as there is a significant time to recover from drugs and alcohol.
Inpatient therapy treatment has some differences from outpatient treatments. In outpatient treatment (also called IOP), a person can attend groups and individual therapy sessions while staying at home or a sober facility. IOP also is less intensive than residential rehab as it is the next step to segue someone newly in recovery back into their lives. Each stage is carefully developed for gradual integration after attending drug and alcohol rehab.
At our facility in Astoria, we would like to answer any questions you might have about the ins and outs of drug and alcohol rehab and why our facility stands out from the rest.

NEXT STEP- DETOX
After the initial admission on intake, the patient will be engaged in the detoxification process to assist each person in beginning physical wellness. During the closely monitored detox, whether from drugs or alcohol in Astoria, there will be great care to include whatever supplements are needed, including medication management to ease symptoms and side effects. The focus of detox is to minimize any discomfort or health issues throughout withdrawal.
Once detox is completed in our Astoria rehab facility, our patient transitions and integrates into the daily scheduled treatment plan and interacts with others through their stay.
